Get ready for a deliciously scientific night: TLU’s Chemistry CHAOS Night is back tonight

The Chemistry CHAOS Night at Texas Lutheran University is back once again, and this year the event is themed around The Chemistry of Food and Cooking. Visitors will have the chance to explore the wonders of chemistry in new and exciting ways through hands-on experiments that showcase the processes involved in food and cooking science.

Led by Dr. Alison Bray, professor and chair of the chemistry department at TLU, attendees will be able to experience chemistry in a fun and interactive way. From making biopolymers to conducting candy chromatographs and tasting liquid nitrogen ice cream, visitors will learn about the science behind the foods we eat every day.

Kids of all ages, from kindergarten through high school, as well as adults, are welcome to attend and participate in the evening of CHAOS. The event will take place at Jackson Park’s Student Activities Center from 6 to 8 p.m., and it’s free and open to the public. The Pi Rho Chemistry Club at TLU is hosting the event with the goal of educating and inspiring the community to learn more about the science of food and cooking.
