Xander Schauffele Climbs to World No. 2 as Bryson DeChambeau Jumps in Rankings

Xander Schauffele has recently been crowned as the second-best player in the world after winning the PGA Championship. This victory has propelled him to the No. 2 spot in the latest Official World Golf Ranking, surpassing Rory McIlroy who is now ranked third. Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler continues to hold onto his position as the number one player with a lead of more than six average points.

Throughout his career, Schauffele has frequently found himself within the top five of the OWGR but this recent win marks his highest ranking yet. Another significant move in the rankings came from Bryson DeChambeau who returned to the top 40 after playing in the LIV tour. Despite not being included in official world rankings, DeChambeau jumped from 124th to 35th after finishing as a runner-up at Valhalla Golf Club. Prior to his T-6 finish at the Masters, DeChambeau was ranked 210th.

Following the PGA Championship, 60 players have secured spots in the next major event, The U.S Open scheduled for June 13-16. Two players who moved inside this number are Thomas Detry and Justin Rose who jumped from 71st and 68th respectively following a tie for fourth place and sixth place respectively.
