Annual Blood Drive Hosted by SCTC Health Science

In February, Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) celebrated Career and Technical Education Month by partnering with Mississippi Blood Services to host a spring blood drive. This event was a huge success, with more than 20 pints of blood being collected potentially saving many lives.

The health science department at SCTC played a crucial role in organizing this event, and their involvement provided students with valuable skills. They had the opportunity to learn about event planning, teamwork, communication, and community engagement. Additionally, they developed an understanding of the significance of blood donations in healthcare which helped foster empathy and a sense of social responsibility.

Brenda White, the health science instructor at SCTC played an essential role in organizing this event and her hard work made it successful and impactful. The partnership between SCTC and Mississippi Blood Services not only allowed for the collection of valuable blood but also served as a reminder of the importance of giving back to the community.
