Seahawks reach agreement with Laviska Shenault on contract terms

The Seahawks have recently signed Laviska Shenault, a former second-round pick for the Jaguars in 2020, to their roster. Shenault had experience as a kick returner and has averaged 27.7 yards per return on nine attempts over the last two seasons. He also had six returns in eight games last season alone.

Shenault’s value may increase with the new kick return rule being passed, as his experience and potential make him a valuable asset for the team’s special teams unit. Although he has shown promise as a receiver, catching 121 passes for 1,219 yards with five touchdowns in his first two seasons, his production decreased during his time with the Panthers. In the last two years, Shenault only had 37 catches for 332 yards with one touchdown.

Seattle’s decision to sign Shenault indicates their interest in strengthening their special teams and adding versatility to their roster. With his experience as a kick returner and potential as a receiver, Shenault could be a valuable asset for the team moving forward.
