Stefon Diggs traded from Bills to Texans

In a shocking move, the Buffalo Bills have decided to trade star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal will see Diggs head south in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick from Minnesota and a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick. This trade will result in a $31 million dead cap charge for the Bills in 2024, as Diggs is under contract with the team until 2027.

Diggs was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 draft and spent his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before joining the Bills in 2020. In his first season with Buffalo, he led the league in receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535). Despite a slight decline in production in 2023, Diggs still managed to record over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) for the fourth consecutive year. He has achieved over 1,000 receiving yards for the past six seasons.

The Texans will welcome Diggs as a valuable addition to their team, providing young quarterback C.J. Stroud with another strong offensive weapon. Throughout his career, Diggs has amassed an impressive total of 810 receptions for 9,995 yards and 67 touchdowns in just 136 games. With this move, Diggs is now poised to continue his success with a new team and help C.J. Stroud take his game to the next level.
