Marc Guiu, a Barcelona forward, scored the winning goal at the Under-17 World Cup match between Spain and Japan, helping his team advance to the quarter-finals. In their final group fixture, Spain defeated Japan 2-1, with Quim Junyent of Barcelona also finding the back of the net.

Junyent opened the scoring for La Rojita after just eight minutes of play and Japan equalised five minutes before halftime. However, in the second half, Junyent provided an assist to Guiu who scored the winning goal, securing Spain’s place in the quarter-finals. Junyent was awarded man of the match.

Spain will face either Germany or America in their next match for a chance to advance to semi-finals. If they play against Germany, Spain’s Barca contingent will come up against Noah Darvich who has been performing well for his national side at this tournament.
