The jury for ABC Salud has been exceptional this year, with Ana Pastor serving as its chairman. Other jurors include the director of the National Transplant Organization (ONT), the director of the Carlos III Health Institute, the president of the General Council of Official Medical Associations, and many other professionals involved in the healthcare sector.
The 2023 winners are diverse and impressive. The microbiologist’s work has been recognized for its significant impact on medicine. Janssen’s new fast-acting antidepressant is another notable achievement in mental health. A clinical history project in private healthcare has also made a significant contribution to patient care. A pediatric transplantation project was also recognized for its success in treating young patients with life-threatening conditions.
Other winners include a mental health awareness campaign aimed at promoting better mental health among children and young people. A hospital in Seville that helps babies with malformations was honored for its innovative approach to care. An oncological hyper-early diagnosis and prevention unit was also recognized for its contributions to cancer research and treatment. Finally, a foundation dedicated to improving the health conditions of vulnerable populations received recognition for its work in addressing some of society’s most pressing health issues.
