Texans acquire Stefon Diggs in trade with Bills

In a recent social media post, Stefon Diggs sparked a debate about the role of his success in Josh Allen’s achievements with the Buffalo Bills. It was announced that the team had decided to trade Diggs to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick, a 2024 sixth-round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

By trading Diggs before June 1, the Bills will face a $31 million dead cap charge in 2024. Despite being signed through 2027, Diggs was traded by Buffalo after spending just one season with the team. Prior to joining the Bills, he spent five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings where he had an impressive debut season leading the league in catches (127) and yards (1535).

Diggs continued to perform well in Buffalo, achieving over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) for four consecutive seasons. He has now surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for six consecutive seasons. However, despite his successes on the field, Buffalo has chosen to part ways with him as they look to add another weapon for second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud with Houston.

Throughout his career spanning over 136 games, Diggs has recorded an impressive total of 810 receptions for 9,995 yards and 67 touchdowns.
