Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to host a special event during Saluki Startup, the annual welcome festival for new and returning students. The event, called Taste of Carbondale, will take place on August 14 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at SIU’s Student Services Building pavilion.
The focus of Taste of Carbondale is on food and beverage businesses, but all types of local businesses are invited to become sponsors. Sponsors will have the opportunity to engage with attendees at the event and showcase their brand.
Taste of Carbondale is an extension of orientation and engagement opportunities for new Salukis, allowing them to get better acquainted with the campus, make new friends, and experience more of SIU before classes begin. Sponsorship packages start at $500 and will help cover the costs of providing food samples. Sponsors will also have their company logos featured on the Taste of Carbondale website and may have additional promotional opportunities.
Businesses interested in becoming sponsors for Taste of Carbondale should contact William Lo at the Chamber of Commerce by May 31. He can be reached at 618-549-2146 or wlo@carbondalechamber.com.
