As the Indian U-19 team prepares for the World Cup final, captain Uday Saharan is determined to beat Australia. He spoke passionately to his team during a huddle at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, reminding them of their previous loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup final.

Sanjay Dhas, father of Sachin, who starred in the semis with 96 against the best pace attack of the tournament, shares that most of the conversation in their WhatsApp group was centered around India’s ODI World Cup loss to Australia. He highlights how Australia has always dominated India in big tournaments and how they lost the World Test Championship (WTC) final and then the ODI World Cup final.

However, Sanjay emphasizes that beating Australia is crucial for Indian pride and that they must beat them at their own game. He adds that each player on the team is ready for this match and wants to defeat Australia in the final. Sanjay recalls a moment when captain Uday Saharan told everyone, “We can’t lose to them again,” after the Pakistan vs Australia tie as the team was on their way to the hotel.
