On Wednesday, a man was arrested for stealing money from the tip jar at a Miami Beach business. According to jail records, Jeffrey Lewis Scott, 33, was taken into custody on a petit theft charge.
The incident was captured on surveillance video earlier this week at Bagel Time Cafe located at 3915 Alton Road. The thief appeared to be after someone else’s hard-earned cash and made off with $200.
To add insult to injury, the crook went into the tip jar where they keep large bills. The owner of Bagel Time, Josh Nodel, told Local 10 that the thief came inside and went straight to the counter before taking money from his wife and going into the tip jar.
As of Thursday morning, Scott was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond. This arrest comes after several incidents involving theft in the area and vandalism against Israeli flags hanging outside of businesses.
