The NASCAR race weekend at Dover Motor Speedway is in full swing, with a packed schedule of on-track action on Saturday. Cup teams will practice and qualify for Sunday’s race, which starts at 2 p.m. ET on FS1. Last season, Kyle Busch grabbed the pole position after rain washed out qualifying, and Christopher Bell joined him on the front row.
Meanwhile, Xfinity teams will also race on Saturday, with defending winner Ryan Truex back in the lineup driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. This could be the perfect opportunity for Martin Truex Jr. and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates to break their recent top-10 drought. There are four drivers with secure spots in the Xfinity playoffs, including Austin Hill, Chandler Smith, Sam Mayer, and Jesse Love.
One driver who is particularly excited about the race is Riley Herbst, who will be competing for the final Dash 4 Cash $100,000 bonus against Ryan Sieg, Anthony Alfredo, and Corey Heim. Love expressed confusion about whether he was allowed to pass people on a green-white-checkered finish, saying “I just don’t understand.”
The Dover Motor Speedway Saturday schedule includes practice sessions for both the Cup and Xfinity Series. Cloudy skies and a high of 57 degrees are expected throughout the day. There is a 2% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race. The garage opens at 8:30 a.m., with track activity scheduled throughout the day until the Xfinity Series race at 1:30 p.m (All times Eastern).
