UIL Legislative Council Approves Split Divisions for Postseason Sports Competitions

UIL Council has approved divisional splits in various sports

The University Interscholastic League Legislative Council recently held a meeting to discuss and make decisions on proposed rule changes in UIL academics, athletics, music, and policy. One of the significant decisions made was to implement split divisions in the postseason for volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball. This change will affect teams in the 2A-6A conferences for volleyball, softball, and baseball; 4A-6A for soccer; and 1A-6A for basketball.

The amendment for split divisions was passed by the Legislative Council pending approval by the Commissioner of Education and will go into effect on August 1, 2024. All schools in their respective conferences will remain in their assigned districts according to the 2024-26 alignment.
