The United States was commended by the foreign minister for their decision to veto a distorted proposal that had been rejected by the UN Security Council. Despite condemnation from many countries, Hamas was not held accountable for the October 7th massacre. It is clear that Israel will not tolerate terrorism and will continue to fight until Hamas falls and all Israeli abductees are released.
Several weeks ago, the Security Council passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan and the unconditional release of all abductees. While fourteen countries supported the decision, the United States chose not to vote, leaving it up to other countries to take action. The UN Security Council emphasized the urgent need for aid to be delivered to Gaza and demanded that obstacles be removed in order for aid transfer to occur.
