Get ready to vote for the most impressive Grand Rapids-area spring sports seniors! Starting on Tuesday, May 7, we will launch a story and poll featuring the area’s elite athletes in each grade.
We are shifting our focus to seniors who are concluding their high school athletic careers with a new poll recognizing the top local performers in each grade. We want to make sure that no one is overlooked, so we are encouraging you to email nominations and player stats to Patrick Nothaft at pnothaft@mlive.com.
Among the top seniors are future Division-I college athletes such as Claire Marosi (Northwestern) from GR Catholic Central lacrosse, Megan Beemer (Michigan) from Hudsonville centerfielder, Sophie Holverstott (Michigan State) from Byron Center catcher, Rachael Wright (Michigan State) from Coopersville soccer, Auden Stauffer (Central Michigan) from Forest Hills Northern soccer, Selma Anderson (Syracuse) from Ottawa Hills distance runner, Natalie VanOtteren (Michigan) from GR Christian distance runner, and many more.
We have already featured some impressive spring sports Athlete of the Week winners this season, including Kennadi Galy from Allendale girls track sprinter and Caden VanHuis from Holland Christian baseball shortstop. Stay tuned for more Grand Rapids prep sports coverage!
