Vrsar Plane Crash: Firefighters Warn of Fuel Leak Danger

On Sunday afternoon, an ultralight aircraft crashed in Vrsar, with the police receiving a report about the incident at approximately 2:30 p.m. The competent Agency for the Investigation of Accidents in Air, Maritime and Railway Traffic was informed about the incident, and the state attorney’s office also ordered an investigation at the scene. It is reported that one person suffered minor injuries in the crash.

As we unofficially learn, the Wild Thing WT01 plane fell from a height of 30 to 50 meters. The circumstances that led to the accident are still being investigated. The accident took place at Vrsar airport, involving our citizens. According to information from PU Istarska, firefighters from Poreč arrived at the scene ten minutes after being notified about the crash. Although there was no fire on board, there was a risk of it catching fire as the plane’s wings were broken and it was leaking gasoline. As a precautionary measure, firefighters poured foam over the plane, closed all tanks, disconnected the battery and pumped out any remaining gasoline from the tank.

The injured passenger was transported from the plane by ambulance after reports came in that passengers had gotten out of it themselves following a crash at around 2:25 p.m., fortunately alive but injured nonetheless.
