West Branch Blasts Minerva 0-10 in EBC Baseball Game with standout performance from Beau Alazaus, Hunter Shields and Anthony Perry

West Branch scored 10 runs to defeat Minerva 0-10 at Carl Michael Field on Wednesday. Beau Alazaus, the third baseman, hit two runs in the fourth and sixth innings with a single and double, respectively. Hunter Shields also contributed with two hits and three runs scored. Jaxon Robb received medical clearance earlier in the day and went 2-for-2 with two runs.

Anthony Perry earned the win for West Branch by pitching a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. He also added to his team’s lead by hitting a two-run single in the sixth inning. West Branch is now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, while Minerva falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC.

West Branch scored one run in each of the first three innings, with Charlie Biskup scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Boston Mulinix walking but eventually scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Both Biskup and Mulinix stole two bases during the game. The Warriors are coming off a win over Marlington next Tuesday as they continue their season.
