WSFA 12 News is thrilled to welcome its newest sports reporter, Davis Baker, to the team. Originally from Georgia, Baker graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism and has a passion for SEC sports.
Baker previously served as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for the past two years, where he was the weeknight sports anchor covering local and regional sports news in north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. During his time at KTEN, he also produced and hosted feature shows and football previews.
Prior to his time at KTEN, Baker interned at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia and wrote for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Georgia. He brings a wealth of experience as a former sports director and is eager to highlight high school, college, and professional athletes in Alabama.
Baker expressed his excitement about joining the WSFA team and working alongside Rosie Langello, WSFA’s sports director. Langello shared her enthusiasm about the new partnership noting that Baker’s reputation in the industry as a hard worker with a positive attitude made him a standout candidate. She believes that his experience will make him a valuable asset especially as he joins our team. Langello looks forward to Baker’s involvement in the community and his dedication to covering sports teams in the area.
