The former Teletech building in Moundsville has been transformed into a state-of-the-art clinic for the Renner Behavioral Health Program, which is a partnership between WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital. An open house and ribbon cutting ceremony were held to celebrate the program’s grand opening, which took place about a month ago.
The Marshall County Chamber of Commerce hosted the event, which was attended by community officials and dignitaries. During the ceremony, Douglass Harrison, president and CEO of WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital, emphasized the pressing need for behavioral health services in West Virginia and across the country. He highlighted the importance of breaking down stigmas around mental health and encouraged physicians to start the referral process for individuals in need of mental health services.
Marshall County Commission President Mike Ferro expressed his pride in having WVU Medicine expand its services in the community and acknowledged the significance of the new program. He emphasized that mental health needs to be recognized as just as important as physical health, signaling a positive step towards addressing mental health issues in the region.
