On November 15 and 16, the media reported that a convicted pedophile named Ivica Mišković was located in the Zagreb area. We contacted the Zagreb police to confirm this information, and they responded that Mišković was indeed found. However, they also stated that there were no grounds for his further detention or arrest because Mišković is also a Croatian citizen.
According to the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia, a Croatian citizen cannot be extradited to another country unless there is an international agreement or decision made by the European Union to do so. The Zagreb police explained that this condition had not been met for Mišković.
Furthermore, Interpol Zagreb sent Interpol Sarajevo a notification about the protocol that needed to be followed through the competent judicial authorities. The Zagreb police did not disclose any additional information about Mišković’s whereabouts or future plans.
