Bullpen of Sea Dogs struggles once more in third consecutive defeat

In an Eastern League game played in Hartford, Connecticut, the Hartford Yard Goats staged a remarkable comeback from a 4-1 deficit to win 12-5 against the Portland Sea Dogs. This marked the third straight game in which the Yard Goats overcame a lead to secure victory.

Nick Yorke played a key role for the Sea Dogs, going 2 for 4 and scoring twice. However, Portland’s bullpen struggled to maintain their lead, ultimately leading to their defeat.

Sterlin Thompson had a standout performance for the Yard Goats, going 3 for 4 with a home run, double, and three RBI. His contributions helped propel the team ahead of Portland in the Northeast Division standings. Matthew Lugo also contributed with an RBI triple in the third inning that gave Portland an initial lead of 4-1.

Pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez had a solid outing for Portland, striking out eight batters and allowing only one hit through five innings. Despite his strong performance, it was not enough to prevent the Sea Dogs from falling behind.

The Sea Dogs will look to turn things around as they begin a six-game homestand against the Reading Fightin Phils on Tuesday.
