Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan recently visited NATO headquarters in Brussels to discuss the security situation and challenges in the South Caucasus, as well as the ongoing process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. During his speech, Kostanyan highlighted the significance of Armenia’s participation in the “Partnership for Peace” program of the North Atlantic Alliance nearly thirty years ago as a crucial step towards enhancing cooperation between Armenia and NATO.
Kostanyan emphasized Armenia’s readiness to deepen cooperation with both NATO and its member states to enhance defense and security capabilities. The discussions also touched upon international security issues of common interest, reflecting the commitment of Armenia to engage in productive cooperation with NATO and its member states. During his visit, Kostanyan also discussed talks on normalizing relations with Turkey, a NATO member. The Foreign Ministry report mentioned that these talks took place during the visit. The discussions reflected the importance of improving relations with Turkey for regional stability and security.
