The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Transportation Technology Center at the College of Southern Idaho was attended by personnel from the college, government leaders, and members of the Twin Falls community. The center is set to be a hub for excellence in education and workforce development, preparing individuals for the demands of the modern transportation and agricultural industry.
The Dean of General and Transfer Education, Tiffany Seeley-Case, spoke about how the center will provide specialized training to meet the needs of industry leaders. This project is being funded by the Idaho Department of Public Works and CSI, with a total budget of $15 million. Starr Corporation will serve as the construction manager for the project.
Idaho Lt. Governor Scott Bedke highlighted the demand for well-trained employees in the transportation and agricultural industries, with job openings for 600 graduates in Idaho. He emphasized the importance of specialized training in facilities like the new Transportation Technology Center.
