Fire crews in Summerville respond to early morning fire at local business

A fire broke out early Sunday morning on the 1200 block of Old Trolley Road in Summerville, South Carolina, causing smoke and water damage to multiple businesses. The incident was a reported commercial fire, which was confirmed by Chief Fire Marshal Jeremiah Lee.

Although there were no signs of fire from the outside, crews encountered smoke and heat upon entry, indicating a fire was present. They were able to locate and control the fire in less than five minutes, but neighboring businesses were affected by smoke and water damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety in commercial properties.
