The Momentous Institute is hosting a free panel and launching a toolkit to assist families in navigating the mental health crisis. Executive Director, Dr. Jessica Gomez, emphasizes the importance of addressing mental health issues and reducing the stigma associated with it. Despite increasing attention on mental health, there is still a need to improve access to services and educational opportunities.
Dr. Gomez highlighted the prevalence rates of mental illness in the state and the lack of access to care, ranking last among all states. She emphasized the importance of elevating the conversation around mental health and promoting strategies to cultivate mental wellness. The institute will be hosting a free event on the root causes of the mental health crisis at Collin College Frisco Campus on April 30th at 5:30 pm. Attendees will have the chance to win tickets to the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, where players will be showing their support for mental health awareness by wearing green ribbons. In place of their names, players and caddies will have ways they maintain their mental health displayed on their bibs.
