YouTuber Achieves Guinness World Record for Largest Model Aircraft Carrier

James Whomsley, a renowned British YouTube host known for his engineering channel, recently made history by building the largest remote-controlled aircraft carrier model in the world. As confirmed by Guinness World Records, this impressive feat was achieved after three months of meticulous construction using wood, foam, and fiberglass. To ensure its durability and functionality, expanding foam was used to make the carrier waterproof.

After completing the model, Whomsley had to learn how to operate remote-controlled planes and modify both the planes and the carrier to successfully land them on it. The experience of bringing his idea to life and seeing it work was described as “amazing” by Whomsley. To facilitate the landings, he added first-person view cameras to the model aircraft for better visibility. The modified ready-to-fly models used in the project were tested at Rudyard Lake in Staffordshire. Unfortunately, one of the planes crashed into the water during testing.

Whomsley’s YouTube video showcases his numerous attempts to land the planes on the carrier, as well as highlights from the building process. This is not new for him as he has previously set a Guinness World Record for building the fastest remote-controlled jet-powered car equipped with a JetCat 220 engine and an aluminum chassis that reached speeds of up to 94.76 mph before being destroyed after hitting 141 mph on a third run.

The construction of this monumental aircraft carrier model took Whomsley three months to complete using a combination of wood, foam, and fiberglass. To ensure its durability and functionality, expanding foam was utilized to make it waterproof after completion.

In addition to building an impressive aircraft carrier model that broke a world record for size, Whomsley also managed to successfully land two remote control model planes on it earning him another world record in process.

Whomsley’s engineering projects have been making headlines for years now and it’s safe to say that he is one of Britain’s most creative engineers today.

To create this massive aircraft carrier model, Whomsley had to use his expertise in engineering along with his passion for creating unique projects that push boundaries.

Overall, James Whomsley’s latest project is proof that anything is possible when you put your mind into it and are willing to take risks.
