Western Slope Iron and Supply marks half a century in business with celebration

Western Slope Iron and Supply recently marked its 50th anniversary with an open house that brought together customers, contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and trade partners. Three generations of owners – founder Jim Over, his son Jeff Over, and current owner David Marsh – were present for the celebration. Over 100 people attended the event, including representatives from the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce who held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to honor the company’s milestone.

With 65 employees from Mesa County, Western Slope Iron and Supply has become a significant employer in the area. The company specializes in steel fabrication and has provided materials for various local projects, including the James Pulsipher Regional Cancer Center at Community Hospital, the new Grand Junction High School, the Orchard Mesa Middle School, and the Lincoln Park Stadium Tower. The company has also worked on projects outside of Colorado, such as the expansion of McCarran International Airport (now Harry Reid International Airport) in Las Vegas.

David Marsh expressed his gratitude for the company’s success over the years, attributing it to its dedicated employees, loyal customers, and a commitment to treating people well. He thanked everyone involved in making Western Slope Iron and Supply a thriving business over the past five decades.
