The Troy Pike Center for Technology recently hosted two events for high school students from Charles Henderson High School, Goshen High School, and Pike County High School. Careers Are Fun Day was held in two sessions, each designed for students in grades 10-12. Jamie Rich, assistant principal at the technology center, explained that the goal of the event was to introduce students to various career options and provide them with an opportunity to bond with peers from other high schools.
During Careers Are Fun Day, students had the chance to participate in hands-on activities and learn about a variety of industries. They also had the opportunity to connect with professionals who work in those fields and ask questions about their experiences. In addition to Careers Are Fun Day, the TPCT also held a Senior Career Signing Day for students who will be entering the military or starting employment or an apprenticeship at local businesses and industries. This event allowed students to celebrate their future endeavors and mark the next step in their career journeys. It was a day of excitement, pride, and camaraderie as students from different schools came together to support their peers in their chosen paths.
