In an effort to help individuals develop and maintain their AI skills, CompTIA has announced the launch of new certification programs. The first of these programs is the AI Essentials series, which will be released in July 2024. This program focuses on competencies in various tech career areas and roles including software development, cybersecurity, systems operations (SysOps), data analytics, prompt engineering, and AI systems architecture. It is designed to be applicable to any occupation, whether in tech-specific positions or adjacent roles that rely on technology.
The Essentials series will cover a range of topics such as the landscape of AI, available AI tools, challenges in AI, benefits of AI for creativity and work enhancement, and future implications of AI. On the other hand, the Expansion series is designed for individuals with CompTIA Plus (+) or Pro certification in areas like security engineering, penetration testing, security analysis, data analysis
