On May 1, 2024 at 2:09 pm, Orith Farago made an announcement regarding a temporary road closure on Charles Katz Drive. The reason for the closure is crane work that will be taking place to lift air conditioning units onto the top of the Center for Brain Health. The affected section of the road will be from the intersection of Floyd Curl to the driveway of Garage G. This closure is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. If the work is not completed by 5 p.m. on May 11, the closure will be extended to 5 p.m. on May 12.
During this road closure, Garage G and the employee sections of the Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC) and Center for Oral Health Care and Research (COHCR) garages will still be accessible through the Ewing Halsell Drive side of Charles Katz Drive. Charles Katz Drive itself can only be accessed from the roundabout at Ewing Halsell Drive and Sid Katz Drive, but all entrances to patient garages for MARC and COHCR from Floyd Curl are still open for business as usual.
