With just 100 days until the start of the Paris Olympics, the countdown has officially begun. The games will commence on July 24 with men’s rugby and soccer matches, leading up to the final medal events on August 11. Over the course of two weeks, athletes from around the world will compete in dozens of sports, representing their countries in a global competition.
NBC and Peacock will provide live coverage of the event, giving viewers a glimpse into the action at every turn. The games will conclude with a Closing Ceremony, marking the end of the competition.
In celebration of the 100-day countdown to the Olympics, Team USA athletes participated in a challenge where they had to guess which Olympic sport a professional mime was acting out. Viewers can watch the video and try to guess the sport before the athletes do.
The Opening Ceremony for the Paris Olympics is set for July 26, with events beginning at 8:24 p.m. local time or 2:24 p.m ET. Competitions will commence on July 24, two days before the ceremony, launching the start of this prestigious global sporting event.
