The Dallas Cowboys have decided to sign linebacker Damien Wilson back to their roster, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Originally drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round in 2015, Wilson had not been in the league for most of the previous season but signed with their practice squad on Jan. 3. He served a four-game suspension for violating the Personal Conduct Policy.
Wilson’s last appearance in a game was in Week 18 of the 2022 season with the Panthers. After being released by Kansas City, Jacksonville and Carolina, he returned to Dallas where he spent his first four seasons before leaving for other teams.
The Cowboys have been actively seeking depth at the linebacker position and saw Wilson as a valuable addition to their roster after drafting Marist Liufau in the third round. He is now joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks, and Royce Freeman as outside free agent additions to the team.
