DEWA presents innovative initiatives at the World Future Energy Summit

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is showcasing its renewable and clean energy projects, smart initiatives, and efforts towards sustainable development at the World Future Energy Summit 2024. The authority aims to promote a green economy by highlighting these projects that contribute to a more sustainable future for Dubai and the UAE.

One of DEWA’s key projects on display is the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest solar energy complex in the world. With a production capacity of over 5,000 megawatts by 2030, this project contributes significantly to the UAE’s Strategic Initiative for Climate Neutrality 2050 and Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050. Visitors can explore the latest advancements in solar photovoltaic and concentrated solar energy technologies, including the innovative features of the fourth and sixth phases of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. These developments highlight DEWA’s commitment to achieving 100% energy production from clean sources by 2050.

DEWA also showcases other projects such as seawater desalination plants using reverse osmosis technology, a green hydrogen project, and “Green Charger” initiative for electric vehicles. These initiatives demonstrate DEWA’s dedication to promoting sustainability and green mobility in Dubai.

In addition to these projects, visitors can learn about DEWA’s Innovation Center at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Park, which aims to foster innovation in renewable energy technologies. They can also visit The Al Sheraa Building – a zero-energy government building that demonstrates how advanced building design can reduce energy consumption while maintaining comfort levels. Other innovative projects on display include those aimed at reducing carbon emissions from transportation and promoting sustainable agriculture practices in Dubai.
