In preparation for the upcoming Dhofar Fall 2024 season, the Municipality of Dhofar has teamed up with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman. According to reports, last year’s Dhofar Fall 2023 attracted a record number of visitors with 962 thousand attendees, an increase from the previous year’s 813 thousand. This year, officials anticipate that the number of visitors will surpass one million.
Mayor of Dhofar, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, announced during a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition in Dubai that this year’s activities will begin early at both existing and new locations for the fall season. The extended three-month period from June 21 to September 20 aims to attract more tourists and provide a longer period for visitors to enjoy all that Dhofar has to offer.
As part of the Arabian Travel Market launch, officials announced the “Atin Square” website which will showcase various events including Omani and Arab artistic concerts at the Al Murooj Theater. The games area in Atin Square will feature a sports challenge field. Additionally, the “Return of the Past” activities in the Al-Saada area will simulate local environments in the Dhofar Governorate with new additions from other governorates in Oman. Finally, officials have organized the first “Dhofar International Theater Festival” to promote participation from authorities across Oman.
