The popular taco restaurant and bar, Diego’s, served its final drinks to loyal customers this past Saturday in Uptown Kingston. After ten years of business, owner Isaac Cruz took to Instagram to announce the closure of the establishment. The decision was made due to the challenges posed by pandemic lockdowns and rising costs.
Cruz expressed his gratitude to supporters while acknowledging the difficulties faced by the business during the pandemic. He explained that despite tough times, they held on as long as possible, but ultimately had to make the difficult decision to close their doors permanently. However, he mentioned that Diego’s plans to transition into a food truck or trailer in the future.
In an Instagram post, Cruz thanked customers for their support and understanding during their time in business. They also invited fans to stay updated on their future plans by following them on Instagram where they will announce upcoming vending events for the summer. Additionally, they requested support from the community as they navigate this new transition into a mobile food vending operation.
Diego’s hopes to continue serving their beloved tacos to customers in a new and innovative way in the future while facing these new challenges head-on with determination and perseverance.
