The International Commission on Glass (ICG) is pleased to announce that the 15th ICG Workshop for New Researchers in Glass Science and Applications will take place in Montpellier, France from July 7 to 12, 2024. This week-long event is designed specifically for PhD/Master’s students studying glass and those who have recently embarked on research in the glass industry.
The workshop will offer an in-depth overview of the fundamentals in glass science, with a focus on topics such as preparation, structure-property relationships, experimental techniques, MD simulations, and tools for probing structure. Specific themes to be covered include thermodynamics, kinetics, optical behavior, transport phenomena, nucleation, crystallization, and strength.
One of the key features of these workshops is student-centered learning, with 16 formal lectures and eight tutorials that will involve discussions with participants. The regular registration fee for the workshop is €970, with a reduced fee of €380 available for students and academic staff. More information about the workshop can be found at https://icglass.org/latest-fr… A detailed program and travel/accommodation instructions will be provided to all who pre-register/register for the event.
