On Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers secured a thrilling 6-3 victory over the Miami Marlins. Shohei Ohtani continued his impressive power surge by hitting his fourth home run in three games, making history as the first player this season to hit 11 home runs.
Freddie Freeman followed Ohtani’s homer with a solo shot, marking the first time this season that the Dodgers had gone back-to-back. James Outman and Teoscar Hernández also contributed to the winning streak by hitting home runs.
Despite scoring twice in the first inning, Walker Buehler settled down and pitched four innings for the Marlins, giving up three runs and six hits while striking out four. Ryan Yarbrough and Alex Vesia also performed well on the mound for Miami.
Gavin Lux, Outman, and Hernandez continued their power display by hitting home runs in the second and third innings for Los Angeles, leaving Miami struggling to keep up. Nick Gordon eventually hit a homer for Miami but it wasn’t enough to overcome Los Angeles’ commanding lead.
The next game of this series will feature Miami’s RHP Edward Cabrera facing off against Los Angeles’ RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto in what is sure to be another exciting matchup between these two talented teams.
