The AHA Accelerating Health Equity Conference is set to take place in Kansas City, Mo. starting tomorrow, with over 1,000 participants in attendance. This year’s theme of Driving Change Together underscores the importance of collaborative leadership from hospitals, health systems, public health departments and community-based organizations in ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare for all individuals. While progress has been made in addressing health disparities, much work remains to be done.
The conference will feature a diverse lineup of plenary speakers and breakout sessions that cover crucial topics such as building and maintaining community partnerships, addressing complex health and social needs, promoting diversity within leadership teams and fostering inclusivity in the workplace. Community immersion experiences will also allow participants to visit local organizations in Kansas City and witness firsthand community health improvement efforts.
Healthcare challenges are multifaceted and no single entity can solve them alone. By collaborating with community partners, progress towards health equity can be accelerated.
