Duke senior guard Jeremy Roach has announced his decision to declare for the 2024 NBA Draft and enter the transfer portal. After an incredible four-year tenure with the Blue Devils, Roach expressed his gratitude to the team and their fans for the unforgettable experience. Despite having one more year of college eligibility due to his COVID year, Roach has decided to move on to the next chapter in his career.
Roach had a standout season, posting career highs in several categories, including a 42.9% shooting percentage from beyond the arc. As a captain for Duke, he played a crucial role in leading the team to the Elite Eight in March Madness. However, Roach’s departure means that Duke may be without their top four scorers from last season, with Kyle Filipowski, Jared McCain, and Mark Mitchell all making moves as well.
Despite these losses, Duke has an impressive recruiting class lined up for the upcoming season. The top recruiting class in the country is led by Rivals’ top prospect Cooper Flagg and includes other five-star recruits Kon Kneuppel, Isaiah Evans, and Khaman Maluach. With the addition of four-star players Patrick Ngongba II and Darren Harris, Duke has a strong roster ready to step up and contribute.
