On Thursday, Jamestown’s Ella Propheter and her teammates celebrated their victory against West Seneca West in the Section VI Division 1 flag football game. Despite facing some challenges in the air during the game, the team’s overall performance was impressive. Ella Propheter played a significant role in the win, rushing for 61 yards, scoring a touchdown, converting two two-point conversions, and returning an interception for a 64-yard score. The Red & Green team improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the division after a hard-fought 20-6 win.

Kaylee Leeper also contributed to the team’s success by adding 61 yards on the ground, scoring a touchdown, and a one-point conversion. She also broke up five passes and had four flag pulls. Kendall Wilson led the defense with seven flag pulls, including four sacks, while Chryssa Wahl and Abbie Brandow added four flag pulls each.

The team will return to action on Monday when they face Lancaster in their next game. It was a pitcher’s duel in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East softball game in Forestville. The Buffalo Bills’ general manager Brandon Beane joked about selecting a receiver in each of the seven rounds in the NFL draft.
