Clemson University has two exceptional seniors pursuing degrees in Packaging Science: Sarah Dumont and Ezekiel Guevarra. Dumont is majoring in Packaging Science with a focus on Food and Healthcare Packaging, while Guevarra has a minor in Business Administration. Both students have shown remarkable dedication and hard work throughout their time at Clemson, earning them numerous accolades and awards.
Dumont is an active member of several extracurricular activities, including Tiger Band, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Packaging Science Club. She has also served on the Dean’s Student Advisory Board for the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences. Through her research projects, Dumont has gained valuable experience in sustainable waste management and zero-waste event planning at Clemson’s Center for Flexible Packaging. Her co-op experience at Burt’s Bees further developed her skills in sustainable packaging design, leading to her recognition with the Printpack Sustainability Scholarship in 2023.
On the other hand, Guevarra has consistently made the Dean’s List and President’s List at Clemson University due to his hard work and dedication. He completed a co-op rotation and internship with Sonoco and developed a sustainable whey protein powder brand. In his senior year, he worked on a project to redesign pancake mix packaging for sustainability. Guevarra is also a member of the Clemson Packaging Science Club and plans to pursue a Master of Science in Packaging Science under Dr. Duncan Darby’s guidance after graduation.
