Licking Memorial Health Systems has expanded its presence in Ohio, thanks to Intel’s presence in the state. As a result, the population of Licking County is expected to grow by about 30%. To meet the needs of this growing population, Licking Memorial has added a school-based clinic in Pataskala.
Located inside Licking Heights High School, this clinic is the first clinic run by Licking Memorial within a school. Kristine Plotts, one of the nurses at the clinic, expressed her excitement about caring for students, staff, families and community members all in one place. The convenience of receiving healthcare on-site allows students to minimize time away from their classes and ultimately improves their academic success rates.
Licking Memorial CEO and President Rob Montagnese highlighted the importance of expanding their health systems to accommodate the increased population brought by Intel. Plans are already underway to enhance services in Southwest Licking County and Northwest Licking County. Additionally, services and hours are being added to the Pataskala location. In fact, future plans include developing services on 20-plus acres in Johnstown.
At the clinic, Plotts emphasized her dedication to helping students achieve optimal health and success both in school and beyond. Licking Memorial continues to work on planning additional expansions to meet the needs of the growing community.
