Cowboys finalize deal with Ezekiel Elliott

Ezekiel Elliott, a longtime member of the Cowboys, has recently signed an extension with the team. While no details of the agreement have been released, it is a positive development for the team. After being released in March 2023, Elliott signed with the Patriots last August. However, he recently visited the Cowboys and discussions about a return to Dallas began.

With the loss of Tony Pollard in free agency and no other significant moves in the backfield so far this offseason, Elliott is expected to take on a prominent role on the team. As he returns to his original home, it is likely that he will be back in the top spot on the depth chart for the Cowboys in the upcoming season.

While Elliott was originally drafted by the Cowboys in 2016 and has been with them through 2022 season, they have yet to sign extensions with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, or Micah Parsons. With Prescott’s contract expiring after next year and Lamb being just entering his third year with the team, it will be interesting to see how these negotiations play out. For now though, bringing back Elliott is a positive step towards solidifying their roster for next season.
