Good Girl Brewing Co. is set to open its doors in Aiken on May 7. The brewery, located at 880 Banks Mill Road S.E., will offer craft beer brewed on-site as well as a menu of food options. The establishment is housed in a renovated building that was previously an antiques and collectibles store, Found Treasures, which closed in 2020.
The ownership team for Good Girl Brewing Co. includes Andrew and Rachael Phifer, along with friends Paul and Morgan Batton and Rachael’s parents. The property was acquired by Phifer Brewing LLC for $259,000 in January 2021 from the previous owner, Citizens Park. Despite facing challenges such as zoning permits, material costs, loan approvals, and construction delays, the owners have prioritized doing things right and to the best of their abilities, resulting in a project they can be proud of.
Meanwhile, Powderhouse Apartments in Aiken has been sold to Maki Developments LLC for $2.3 million. The transaction was completed on March 19 with Maki Developments taking over ownership of the multifamily residential complex located at 3037 Old Powderhouse Road. Earlier this year, the property changed hands from its previous owner.
In other news, Dollar General Store at 132 Rudy Mason Parkway in Aiken has recently introduced a selection of produce for sale. The store’s remodeling allowed for the addition of fresh fruits and vegetables to its offerings.
