Ubisoft has announced that the first-person shooter XDefiant will be released on May 21 for Xbox Series. Initially presented as part of the Tom Clancy’s franchise, the game features multiplayer mode, customizable characters, and various game modes.
The game was initially planned for a summer 2023 release but faced certification issues from Sony and Microsoft, leading to a postponement. The development team continued to address inconsistencies in the gameplay experience, resulting in further delays. However, Ubisoft has now confirmed the release date for Xbox, PS5, and PC platforms.
XDefiant offers players five factions to choose from each with unique equipment, skills, and abilities. Players can customize their loadout before starting the game and change it at any time during respawn. The game features five different modes on 14 maps with a variety of weapons and accessories.
Each faction in the game offers two active skills, a passive upgrade, and an ultra skill that requires charging. DedSec is one of the factions that is initially locked but can be accessed by completing missions. Players can equip primary and secondary weapons as well as grenades including submachine guns, shotguns, assault rifles and sniper rifles.
The game modes are divided into Arena categories like Domination, Occupy and HotShot as well as Linear modes such as Zone Control and Escort. Ubisoft has provided details on the factions, weapon options and gameplay modes to give players an idea of what to expect when XDefiant launches in May.
Overall XDefiant promises to deliver an exciting new first-person shooter experience for gamers on Xbox Series platform.
