As the Executive Producer of the documentary ‘Losing Grace Finding Hope,’ Sue Loncar is bravely sharing her story. She emphasizes that depression does not discriminate and can affect anyone, regardless of outward appearances. Loncar fondly looks through a photo album dedicated to her daughter, Grace, describing her as beautiful, precious, and greatly desired. Unfortunately, she lost her daughter to suicide in 2016 and still envisions Grace as a vibrant 16-year-old who would be 23 now.
The film’s Writer/Producer/Director, Marica Carroll, stresses the importance of addressing the epidemic of suicide and breaking the stigma around discussing mental health. Through ‘Losing Grace Finding Hope’, Loncar and Carroll hope to provide solace and guidance to those struggling with the loss of a loved one to suicide. The documentary premiered at the Greenwich International Film Festival and is in contention for a $10,000 Social Impact Grant. It will also be shown at the Dallas International Film Festival at various times.
Loncar and Carroll encourage those facing mental health challenges to seek help and remind them that they are not alone.
