The World Center for Birds and Prey welcomes a new ambassador

In the heart of the Idaho desert, nestled south of Boise, lies a sprawling complex dedicated to the well-being of birds of prey. The World Center for Birds and Prey is home to 22 very special ambassadors that serve as a bridge between people and these magnificent creatures.

Recently, Salix joined the ranks of these avian ambassadors, becoming the newest addition to the center. Despite being just a few weeks old, Salix has already captured the hearts of visitors with its small, scruffy appearance. This young raptor is teaching visitors about the importance of caring for birds in their natural environment.

Stephanie Ashley, the curator of birds at the center, and Tate Mason, its director, spoke on Idaho Matters about Salix and the other avian ambassadors at The World Center for Birds and Prey. Through their work, they hope to educate the public about their role in preserving and protecting these majestic creatures.
