Nicole Hernandez, a UF biochemistry undergraduate student, had the opportunity to virtually shadow healthcare professionals through Medi-Gators, a shadowing program that strengthened her resolve to continue on the pre-med track. Hernandez found it eye-opening to see how teams work together and develop essential communication skills for success.
As a member of Medi-Gators, Hernandez was actively involved in the events committee and as a student ambassador. Through this program, she gained valuable exposure and experiences in the healthcare field. Hernandez found it challenging to navigate the various career options available in healthcare, but Medi-Gators provided her with insights into different paths she can take in her pursuit of a medical career.
