City Council Meeting Recognizes Businesses of the Quarter with the Santa Maria Chamber

Trojan Petroleum, located at 1665 West Betteravia Rd. in Santa Maria, has been named the top small business for the quarter ending June 2024. Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service, which is based at 320 Oak St. in Santa Maria and was started by Daniel Keuma in 1991, came in second place. Both businesses have grown significantly over the years and are actively involved in their community.

Trojan Petroleum has been delivering fuel to farms and job sites throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties for 43 years, with a full-service petroleum distributor specializing in this field. They also operate as an independently owned Pacific Pride cardlock site with 15 delivery trucks. The company is committed to supporting local civic groups and giving back to the community through various initiatives and events.

Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service was founded by Daniel Keuma after he relocated from Hawaii, but is now operated by his son Kaniela. The business has expanded from a one-truck operation to seven trucks and eight employees, serving both residential and commercial customers. They also participate in community events and charities, contributing to their reputation as a trusted local business leader.

The recognition program set up by the Chamber of Commerce honors two local small businesses that meet certain criteria each year, such as having fewer than 20 employees, being in operation for at least five years, being physically located within the city limits, and being members of the local Chamber of Commerce in good standing. This program not only highlights these businesses but also reminds us of the unique and diverse businesses that make Santa Maria a great place to live and work.

To view the full ceremony honoring these businesses on April 16th at Santa Maria City Hall Chambers livestream can be watched on CityofSantaMaria.org for more information about this event.
