Harvey Weinstein is currently in a hospital in New York after suffering from various health issues, according to his lawyer Arthur Aidala. He is being treated at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan where he is undergoing medical examinations. Despite the circumstances, Aidala stated that Weinstein is in high spirits and satisfied with the quality of care he is receiving.
The conviction of Harvey Weinstein to 16 years in prison was challenged by his representative Juda Engelmayer, who argued that it was too harsh given his age and poor health condition. However, this conviction was later overturned by an appeals court in New York and a new trial for Weinstein was held in the city. It has been confirmed that Weinstein remains in custody at Bellevue Hospital as of now.
The ‘Me Too’ movement against Harvey Weinstein gained momentum in 2017 as a way for people to speak out about incidents of sexual harassment and assault, particularly within work settings. Prominent figures such as Alyssa Milano, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowan, and Ashley Judd were among the first to publicly accuse Weinstein of misconduct, which sparked the movement and brought attention to the widespread prevalence of such behavior.
